So I've been lusting after this Asos dress for so long and when I saw it in the sale I had to get it. I love the colour I feel like you can wear this colour throughout any season. This dress also goes with a lot of different shoes that I have including my knee high boots. I also love how my paisley skinny scarf goes so well with it.

70S DAYDREAMS

I've always been obsessed with the 1970's, I love the hippie era, overall i like the style and the music! It looks like it was the most fun time to be alive, if I had a time machine i'd definitely go back to the 70's!

I love how music influenced 70's fashion like Jimi Hendrix's style was copied and the disco music genre was transformed into a fashion craze. I love how women broke the rules and wore what they wanted, it was all about flares, bell sleeves, faux fur, paisley prints, colourful dresses, turtle necks, stripes, velvet, satin, silk and embellished blouses. I always see the 1970's and the 60's as the era of women rebelling against the norm and really doing what they wanted.

I was particularly inspired to create this post after watching a film called The Diary Of A Teenage Girl, which is about a teenage girl living in San Francisco during the 1970s and begins an affair with her mothers boyfriend. I was drew to the film as it was set in the 70s, I admired the clothes and the music so much, the soundtrack is awesome. It is a good film about a coming of age story, focusng on  a young girl discovering her sexuality. I definitely recommend it! Especially to younger people as there aren't many films out there like this that tell the story of women's sexuality truthfully like this one, there are so many films out there that portray women's sexuality so stereo-typically. We need to be telling all women and men you are not a slut if you like sex and you are not a prude if you don't!!

It has some great 70's style inspiration..

So here are a few pieces of 70's inspired clothing I have on my wish list or have recently bought...

I need every piece in my wardrobe so badly, the beaded fringe jacket is amazing, the printed maxis, the 90's jackets and crochet! Anja Konstantinvoa is an absolute stunner and wears the collection effortlessly and looks so flawless!

I also love the bohemian backdrop, it looks like my dream home with the collection of fedoras, stacks of jewellery and plants. Its just so amazing, I cant stop staring at these photographs!

WISHLIST

Thought i'd put a little collage together of the stuff i'm lusting after lately.
I adore prints at the moment, aztec, morrocan, indian and any paisley patterns!
I bought a dress from Asos similar to the one at the top of the collage, and i think the fedora hat and studded cowboy boots would go perfect, especially with some crochet pieces i already have.
I'm also madly in love with the Novella Royal trousers i found recently! When i get the money i think i'll definitely get a pair!! I also discovered shop Dixi and love every piece of jewellery on there, it's really unique and bohemian i love it! I'll have to get some pieces, i really like the antique rings!

I'll make sure to blog some outfit photos really soon! I have a fashion internship for an online magazine for 3 months so been busy with that :)!

My Summer Style

This summer i have became inspired by bohemian. My style for a while now has consisted of hippy with a little edge but with summer finally here ive found myself eyeing up nude and tan colours, lace, feathers and kimono's. I always like to dress how i feel, by my personality and mood and lately my inner mother earth has been coming out as im all for natural tones and flower headbands!

Developed from the 60's and 70's era's it has modernised with different patterns, colours and accessories added to it such as flare'd trousers and peace signs. As my hippyness side loves peace signs -i say love but i have too many peace sign rings, t-shirts, earings, necklaces, bracelets and almost bought a pair of peace sign leggings, its more of a problem.Moving onto the bohemian look, accessories can be from peace sign jewellery, to animals and even earth pendants. I already have 'peace' tattoo'd on my wrist so as you can tell this style will match well with my personality. I also love the dreamcatcher tattoo's, there really lovely especially the ones with good detail, I'm obsessed with dreamcatcher vests, bracelets, everything so i absolutely love them as a tattoo idea!

Along with aztec prints and chiffon materials, another big bohemian look is fringe! Fringing on dresses, waistcoats, jackets, bags, boots, vests, shorts, skirts, it can be used on everything and i love that! It's my favourite part of a boho look, it adds a laidback look to your outfit and im definitely a laidback kind of person so thats maybe why i love this style so much, it is a very personal one, its laidback, natural, earth loving, peace nurturing and with summer coming along its the perfect choice.

I  also think a certain actress is to blame for my obsession beginning to worsen over this type of style, as 90210 Gillian Zinser who plays Ivy is a style icon of the bohemian look. I just love everything she wears on 90210, photo shoots and what she wears casually out and about, her own personal style is shown in whatever she does and she always looks so laid back yet chic!

I also blame tumblr as i am addicted to such blogs:

So check them out, they may inspire you too!

But for now heres some pretty bohemian pictures to make you inspired too!
