ZOE KRAVITZ

S T Y L E   I N S P I R A T I O N

I'm a little obsessed with Zoe Kravitz, she's so flawless and her style is always on point! I've followed her style for a long time, admiring her 90's looks and grunge looking outfits. I recently saw her in a film called The Road Within and she was so stunning in it, every time I see her in a film or see a picture of her with her septum piercing it inspires me to get mine done, it looks so cute!

This dress also goes with a lot of different shoes that I have including my knee high boots. I also love how my paisley skinny scarf goes so well with it.

FLORENCE WELCH

S T Y L E   I N S P I R A T I O N

One of my biggest style inspirations is Florence Welch. I've always been a big fan of hers, she has a unique voice, I love her style and she's so effortlessly stunning. One of my highlights of 2015 was seeing Florence and the Machine in concert, she was incredible and seems like such a lovely person.

I love her laid back style, she looks like she just grabs her outfits in the morning without putting too much thought into it and that's her ready for the day, yet she always looks stunning. She has 70's influences in her style and wears flared trousers, bell sleeve tops and embroidered dresses and jackets. She sticks to natural colours like beiges, nude, green and brown. Florence likes to add accessories to her look too with plenty of rings, crystal necklaces and fedora hats.

70S DAYDREAMS

I've always been obsessed with the 1970's, I love the hippie era, overall i like the style and the music! It looks like it was the most fun time to be alive, if I had a time machine i'd definitely go back to the 70's!

I love how music influenced 70's fashion like Jimi Hendrix's style was copied and the disco music genre was transformed into a fashion craze. I love how women broke the rules and wore what they wanted, it was all about flares, bell sleeves, faux fur, paisley prints, colourful dresses, turtle necks, stripes, velvet, satin, silk and embellished blouses. I always see the 1970's and the 60's as the era of women rebelling against the norm and really doing what they wanted.

I was particularly inspired to create this post after watching a film called The Diary Of A Teenage Girl, which is about a teenage girl living in San Francisco during the 1970s and begins an affair with her mothers boyfriend. I was drew to the film as it was set in the 70s, I admired the clothes and the music so much, the soundtrack is awesome. It is a good film about a coming of age story, focusng on  a young girl discovering her sexuality. I definitely recommend it! Especially to younger people as there aren't many films out there like this that tell the story of women's sexuality truthfully like this one, there are so many films out there that portray women's sexuality so stereo-typically. We need to be telling all women and men you are not a slut if you like sex and you are not a prude if you don't!!

It has some great 70's style inspiration..

So here are a few pieces of 70's inspired clothing I have on my wish list or have recently bought...

LANA DEL REY STYLE

Singer Lana Del Rey came onto the scene in 2011 with hit song ‘Video Games’, but it was not just her amazingly haunting voice and talented song writing that made her stand out but her signature look. Lana is known for her sixties and fifties inspired style and always manages to look both cool and sophisticated even in the simplest of outfits. I personally love her style...
